Biography

Imagine being appointed Knight 1st Class of the Royal Norwegian Order of St. Olav for his contribution to music and cultural communication.  Tor Espen Aspaas did this at the tender age of 45.

He achieved this because he is an exceptional pianist and has a unique ability to convey cultural history to everyone. Just tackling some of the themes he has addressed deserves recognition.

At the age of 34, he became a professor at the Norwegian Academy of Music and worked there until 2023. Then he left the secure life of academia to once again devote himself to the creative and free artistic life. We are thrilled about this, as we can never get enough of Aspaas in free rein on the piano and in his communication.
