Festival Finale!

SUNDAY, JUNE 30 2024 3 pm

At the festival’s final concert, you have a unique opportunity to experience César Franck’s passionate Piano Quintet in F minor, a piece that stands out as one of his greatest musical achievements.

The quintet unfolds an emotional drama that ranges from passionate to desperate, from delicate to violent, and from erotic to ecstatic. With an ensemble comprising some of the world’s leading musicians, including the exceptional Yoel Eum Son at the piano and the virtuoso Kristine Balanas on violin, this is an experience you won’t want to miss. Their unique collaboration and interpretation promise an unforgettable performance of Franck’s profound musical landscape.

From the moment the first violin passionately initiates in F minor to the dramatic finale, you are taken through a life-and-death struggle, culminating in all voices cascading down in a final unison waterfall, disappearing into the abyss. The tension remains unresolved, allowing you to exhale and reflect on this year’s chamber music festival, eagerly anticipating new musical narratives in 2025.
