All aspects of Pekka
Pekka Kuusisto is the star he is today because he does things no one else in the classical music world thought possible. Giving him free rein to create his own “Late Night” concert is therefore an insight to what music is and what it can be.
As mentioned in his bio, he likes to be called a fiddler instead of a violinist because it gives him more freedom. That freedom is everything from his countryman Sibelius to a packed hall singing a feisty folk song. If this evening doesn’t engage you, then you are made of stone.
The evening will be filled with the entire A-team of performers from the festival, but let it be clear: Maestro and evening host is Pekka. The other artists will be challenged, and you in the audience will get a concert like you have never experienced before.
That’s what it’s like to be inside Pekka’s world.
