Risør Chamber Music Festival  2021

Welcome to a spectacular anniversary festival from 22-27 June.

Risør Festival Strings is back in 2021!

Ticket sales start on February 18 and the complete programme will be shown on our home page. We will be providing details on the performers and selected concerts on our Facebook page and in our newsletters. So make sure to check them out! It pays to be a member of our Friends Association.  Members can purchase tickets at a reduced rate from as early as February 16.

One of our anniversary projects is to re-establish Risør Festival Strings, our very own chamber orchestra that was an important part of the festival up to 2011. As in the past, the orchestra will comprise Norway’s best young string musicians, most between the ages of 20 and 25 years.

Christmas Concert

Wednesday, December 30. at 18.00 we can again welcome you to the Christmas concert in our beautiful Risør church, with Christan Grøvlen and Astrid Nordstad.

This summer we had a short meeting with Norway’s new piano phenomenon, Christian Grøvlen. A young artist with a good grasp of the present and the future of classical music. At this concert you can meet him again with the singer Astrid Nordstad. Nordstad comes from Trondheim and completed her bachelor’s degree at the Norwegian Academy of Music and the Opera Academy in Oslo in 2014. Astrid Nordstad conveys poetry, love and beaty in her performances.

This summer, we will once again be inviting the very best musicians to Risør and beautiful music will drift out between the small houses in this town of charming wooden houses. In the meantime, you can read more about us on this page. Click on the pictures above to learn more about the Risør Chamber Music Festival! The links under the pictures take you to an archive that we are updating regularly with information on the festival. As part of the anniversary year, we will also be posting all of our past festival programmes.
