Biography

Hekate consists of the three vocalists Synnøve Brøndbo Plassen, Silje Risdal Liahagen, and Malin Alander. In just over a year, they have gone from debuting at Tuva Syvertsen’s Club of Blood at Riksscenen to becoming the hottest vocal trio in Norwegian folk music.

More and more people have opened their eyes to the incredibly rich heritage that vocal folk music carries, not least the enormous variation in styles and methods. Hekate has captured the zeitgeist both in how they perform and what they perform.

They are releasing their first album the same month as the festival. It is a feather in the cap to say that you attended a concert with Hekate in Risør when they have grown both large and strong a few years from now.

They will be part of the big a-ha celebration with Poing on Thursday, June 26.
