Simen Bredesen
Tenor
Simen has already established himself as a fixture on Norwegian and international stages. Rock was supposed to be the plan, but luckily opera came along and claimed him.
About the Artist
Like many other young boys, the goal was to become a rock star, and with a well-known rock musician as a father, Bent Bredesen, the plans were clear. He was going to become a musician.
But after waking up during the final act of Madame Butterfly on a class trip to Prague, a lightbulb went on. Opera is more rock than rock itself. It’s big, it’s powerful, and the singers are on a completely different level.
A musician he became, and today he is himself one of those on “a completely different level”. Still not yet 30, he’s aiming for the stars and dreams of singing Rodolfo in La Bohème at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. Those are the kind of artists we want in Risør, and we’re looking forward to his debut in the Festival Choir’s Nelson Mass at Frydendal Church.
