Behind closed doors
Cathrine’s Salon Presents: “Behind Closed Doors”
Step into the third salon and discover music-making behind closed doors.
From the posh circles of the aristocracy to the hush-hush gatherings of trailblazing musicians, and the hidden talents of refined ladies deemed “too posh” for the public eye. Our journey takes us from these secret spots to the underground Speak Easy joints of Chicago and the shady cafes of Paris.
But right here at home, in a seemingly ordinary chamber evening in 1940s Oslo, a covert story unfolds. Orchestrated by a group of musicians from the resistance, led by the mysterious Amalie Christie—a piano teacher, a rebel, and a social commentator. Under the guise of Beethoven’s classics, notes become nods, and every key a coded conversation.
