Carmina Burana

Saturday, June 29 2024 1 pm

Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana” is a thrilling masterpiece that captures the essence of human life with its highs and lows, joys and despairs. Composed in the mid-1930s, it’s become one of the most beloved choral works, known for its powerful energy and captivating music.

The piece is based on medieval poems found in a German monastery, covering themes like love, fate, and the joys of spring. Orff chose 24 of these poems for his music, creating a vibrant and emotional journey that speaks to audiences even today.

Tonight, we’re excited to present “Carmina Burana” in a special version for choir, soloists, percussion, and two pianos. With the help of the talented conductor Tor Morten Halvorsen, we’ve brought together a choir of 150 singers to bring this magnificent work to life.

Expect a performance full of passion and energy, as we explore the timeless themes of “Carmina Burana” together. It’s a musical experience that promises to be both grand and deeply moving, perfect for anyone looking to be swept away by the power of music.
