For the first time, we’re creating a pre-festival celebration at Frydenborg for residents, users, and families alike. We’re proud of this, because we want to reach all of Risør.

About the concert

We’re opening festival week by turning the whole of Frydenborgsenteret into a festival area. We’ll put up tents, there’ll be music from this year’s festival artists, and everyone is invited.

We’ll be serving lapskaus, waffles, beer and wine, but more than anything we want to create a day filled with music and togetherness for residents, users, family, friends and familiar faces. When not everyone can come to us, we’ll come to you. Welcome!

Today’s Programme

Celebration at Frydenborg from 11:00 to 15:00

There will be five sets of music, and in between you can enjoy food, drinks and good company. It is a tradition that the musicians from this year’s wind course show up, and they will open and close the day.

Artistic Director Tine will of course be there, and she is bringing star soprano Mari Eriksmoen and Gunnar Flagstad on piano. The string trio Trio Leikínn will perform one set, and KORK concertmaster Oda Holt Günther will play together with Jarle Storløkken.

There will be music that will be performed later during the festival, but also pieces you can only experience on this day.

Why are we having a pre-festival celebration?

Exclusion and loneliness are major problems in society, and unfortunately this does not improve with age. If anything, the opposite is often true.

One of the most important parts of this celebration is not just bringing music to residents and users, but also giving family, friends and loved ones the chance to have a different kind of day at the centre.

Many people are not able to attend the concerts in town during festival week, and that also affects the ability of relatives to take part in the Chamber Music Festival. That is why we are doing this in collaboration with nearly 30 volunteers.

Coming together around cultural experiences proves, again and again, to be a wonderful remedy against loneliness and a way to create good memories together. It doesn’t take much, so we’ll do our part.
