Håvard Gimse

Håvard Gimse, a prominent Norwegian concert pianist and recording artist, has achieved international recognition thanks to his unique musical approach and talent. He has won prestigious awards such as the Diapason d’Or and Gramophone’s Editor’s Choice for his exceptional recordings, including collaborations with cellist Truls Mörk. Gimse has impressed audiences on world-renowned stages, and his dedication to exploring Nordic repertoire, as well as collaborating with musicians from different genres, has contributed to enriching musical dialogue.

Gimse is an honorary citizen of his hometown, Kongsvinger, where his musical journey began at the age of six. He has studied under the guidance of renowned teachers at prestigious music institutions and has won several outstanding awards, including the “Lindeman Prize,” one of Norway’s most prestigious music awards. He also has a strong commitment to chamber music and has led chamber music festivals, in addition to being a professor at the Norwegian Academy of Music.
